Hide in The Backrooms: Horror is an action game built around escaping from, or pursuing, a monster in the unsettling maze-like setting known as the Backrooms. It suits players who enjoy short, tense chase games and the challenge of finding a way through unfamiliar spaces while an enemy is close by.
The game lets you take the role of a human trying to evade danger or play as the monster hunting other characters. Each side changes what you need to pay attention to: as a runner, you look for routes and chances to hide; as the hunter, you try to catch your targets. Switching roles gives the hide-and-seek setup more variety than playing only one side.
Backrooms-style corridors and a pursuing enemy are central to the experience. The game also includes noclip movement, letting players pass through walls and obstacles, along with acceleration abilities. These mechanics make route choice part of the chase, rather than leaving movement to simple running and hiding. Players who prefer a calm, predictable pace may find the pursuit-focused action intense; those who like reacting quickly and learning a space may find it a better fit.
