Learn Drawing

Drawing lessons for beginners and hobbyists

Learn Drawing is an Art & Design app for people who want guided practice rather than a gallery of finished work. Its lessons break drawing subjects into steps, making it a fit for beginners who want a clear place to start, as well as hobbyists looking to try different styles.

What you can practise

The lessons cover a range of subjects and techniques, including portraits, cartoon characters, shading, composition and colour theory. That mix gives you room to move from basic sketching towards more detailed work, or to focus on a subject that interests you.

• Follow step-by-step tutorials to build a drawing from simpler shapes and marks.
• Explore both realistic and cartoon-style subjects.
• Practise fundamentals such as shading, composition and colour.

What to expect from the format

The app is organised around guided lessons, so it is intended to help you work through a drawing rather than provide a freeform canvas or a general-purpose art editor. It may suit learners who prefer visual instruction and a defined sequence. The range of topics can help you sample different approaches, though the listing details do not establish how deep each course goes.

Some lessons are described as available offline, which can be useful when you want to practise without a connection. The app also includes occasional themed material, such as drawing ideas for holidays and events.

The listing in one line

Learn Drawing has a 4.39 out of 5 rating from 20,052 reviews and more than 1,000,000 installs. It is made by Rstream Labs. Those figures give a quick sense of its reach and user response; whether its lesson style suits you is your call.
