Local news and weather for the Portland area

FOX 12 Oregon | News & Weather brings reporting from Portland’s KPTV station to a mobile app. It is aimed at people in Oregon and southwest Washington who want local headlines and weather information, rather than a national news feed alone.

Stories, broadcasts and weather

The app covers local news and includes live newscast streaming, so viewers can follow broadcasts when they are away from a television. Weather tools include forecasts and an interactive radar. The app also offers news and weather alerts, including notifications for breaking stories, school closures and weather warnings.

Story recommendations can be tailored to user preferences. The reference information also describes a feature for pausing content on a mobile device and resuming it on a TV. These options may suit people who switch between screens or want selected local updates delivered as notifications.

Who it may suit

This is a region-specific choice for residents, visitors and former residents who follow Portland-area news and weather. Its local focus is also its main limitation: people looking for broad coverage from other parts of the country may need another source alongside it.

A rating of 3 from 2,752 ratings gives prospective users a useful indication of how the app has been received, but it does not explain individual experiences. Consider whether its local coverage and weather tools match what you need.
