Text Me: Second Phone Number

A separate number for calls and texts

Text Me: Second Phone Number gives you an additional phone number for texting and calling over an internet connection. It may suit people who want to keep a personal number separate from conversations on marketplaces, dating services or other social apps. It can also be useful on a Wi-Fi-only tablet or another device without a SIM card.

Calling and messaging

The app supports SMS and picture messages, along with voice calls. Its free calling and texting covers numbers in the United States and Canada; calls or messages to other countries use a credit-based system. That makes it worth checking which destinations you need before relying on it for international contact.

A second number can help you avoid sharing your main one in some situations, but it is not a guarantee of anonymity. Treat it as an extra contact line, rather than a substitute for careful privacy choices.

Things to weigh

Because calls and messages use an internet connection, service depends on having a usable connection. The app is ad-supported, so advertising may be part of the experience. Some privacy features, such as passcode protection for conversations and the option to hide threads, are described in the app’s feature set.

Text Me is a practical fit if you want a separate number for everyday communication in the US or Canada, or need calling and texting on a Wi-Fi device. If you mainly need international calling, check the credit arrangements and destination coverage first.
