Spotify: Music and Podcasts

Music and podcasts in one place

Spotify: Music and Podcasts is a listening app for people who want to play songs, albums, playlists and podcasts from the same library. You can search for a particular artist or show, or browse suggestions when you are not sure what to put on. Its mix of familiar listening and discovery makes it suited to both people with a settled playlist and those who like finding new audio.

Finding something to play

Search helps you look for specific music or podcasts, while personalized playlists and recommendations offer another route through the catalogue. Playlists shaped around listening habits can be useful when you want music without choosing each track yourself. You can also explore by genre or use lyrics to help identify a song when you know a line but not its title.

Listening across devices

The app is part of a wider Spotify experience, with support across devices and platforms including computers, televisions and wearables. Spotify Connect lets a compatible device control playback on another, which can be handy when music is playing through a speaker or television. Some listening options depend on the account or device, so the experience may differ from one setup to another.

What the numbers say

Spotify combines music and spoken audio in a single app, though having several kinds of content together may take some getting used to if you prefer a narrowly organized library. Its rating reflects a very large pool of user reviews rather than a verdict from this listing. The install count shows how widely the app has been downloaded, but does not say whether it will suit your listening habits.
