Guru Mahjong

Mahjong with a daily-reading theme

Guru Mahjong is a board puzzle built around matching and clearing mahjong tiles. It suits players looking for a measured, solo puzzle rather than a competitive game. Alongside the tile boards, it adds zodiac predictions, tarot readings and fortune-cookie messages, giving each session a light spiritual theme. Those extras may appeal if you enjoy astrology and fortune-telling; players who prefer mahjong without additional themes may find them less relevant.

Tools for solving the boards

The game includes hints, shuffles and an undo option to help when a board becomes difficult. These give you ways to reconsider a move or find another path, without having to abandon a puzzle when you get stuck. Some levels are presented as exercises for memory and focus, so the game can offer more structure than simply working through a sequence of boards.

Large, easy-to-see tiles and a straightforward touch interface are part of the experience. The design is intended to keep attention on the board, rather than on busy visual effects. Guru Mahjong can also be played offline, which is useful when you do not have a reliable internet connection.

Who might enjoy it

This is a fit for people who like traditional tile-matching puzzles and want optional daily readings alongside them. The gentle presentation and assistance tools make it approachable for casual play, while the themed content gives the game a distinct character. If your main priority is a stripped-back mahjong game, the astrology and tarot elements are worth considering before you choose it.
